Chicago, IL Borders

My roadies in Chicago, or more accurately, Oakbrook, IL, at the Borders there.  I had a great signing, one of my largest to date, and it was fantastic!  Who-read-the-book count was 19, and we had to slap down only one person who had a somewhat spoiler question.  (grin)  As you can see, I had a lot of roadies to help!

The staff at Borders was fantastic, keeping everything moving smoothly before and after the event.  I left signed copies, but had to take the remaining armbands for the last signing.

I swear, these people looked really familiar. . .  ;-)  This guy here I'm sure I'd seen before.

And this one here, I know I did!  He even brought in his old book, which helped because I didn't sign the same thing this time.  (grin)

Both of these ladies read the books, and it was a delight to meet them.

A motley crew, but everyone was all smiles.

Again, this reader looked really familiar.  Or maybe it was just her smile.  I don't think it could have gotten any brighter.  And Ms. G came!  It was great to see her again.  In fact, there were a lot of familiar faces, making me feel right at home and welcome.

B & N Arboretum

Austin Texas

Barnes and Nobel at the Arboretum in Austin Texas was absolutely wonderful.  The best crowd to date, I think!  The who-read-the-book count was 28, and my roadies were there to make me feel right at home.

This is a fabulous store, and I found that the staff really knows their books.

I met these two ladies, who share the Hollows addiction.

And an old friend drove all the way just to say hi.

Three new readers, dressed for the slight chill.  And a fabulous YA writer and I doing the kiss-kiss.  ;-)

This woman brought me a book of her own, Hollows inspired poetry.  I read it on the flight home and was suitably impressed.

This guy was something else.  That's all I'm going to say.  But he was really nice.  (grin)

I had readers who came in from all over, but I think this one came the farthest distance.

These two came in together, and were one of the first books I signed that night.

Rock Hill, SC The Book Rack

The Book Rack in Rock Hill is my local store, who has been with me almost forever.  I love signing there, and this year was no exception.  I like local signings because they are more low-key, and as you can see by the photos below, I've more time to relax and talk to the readers.

These readers came from Columbia if I'm remembering correctly.  Looooong drive!

She didn't tell me, but this is an aspiring author.  ;-)  Aren't mom's great for promoting their daughter's work?  (grin)

Barnes and Noble in Roseville, just outside Minneapolis

The B&N in Minneapolis was as fantastic as I remembered.  There was only roadie, but she was enthusiastic!

I left lots of signed stock and mourning armbands, so if you're in the area and missed out, you know where to find them.

It was a family affair! I had to tell this guy to stand up straight.  I don't think he wanted me to feel short.  ;-)

I spent a while with these readers.  See the bag that says Tink's Panties?  It was full of books! I like to cal this guy, snake man.  For the shirt.  (grin)

Uncle Hugo's, Minneapolis, MN

Two of my roadies at Uncle Hugo's!  I had a nice group of readers, but because it was simply a signing, not an event, I couldn't pull the roadies out for a group picture.

The gal in the red made matching charm bracelets with everything from the book!  Completely floored me!  Here we are, modeling them.  (grin)

Another reader from Uncle Hugo's.  He's in a leather jacket . . .  ;-)

I remember this group from last year, but someone grew up a lot!

It's hard to see, but there are bunny pins!  Two very enthusiastic readers.  ;-)

Books & Co. at The Greene

Dayton, OH (Cincinnati)

Here I am with the people of Books and Co at the Green in Dayton, just north of Cincinnati.

This is the second time I had signed here, and it was better than ever.  I left signed stock, so if you're in the area and want a signed copy, they've got 'em!

Me and my Books and Co Roadies!

There were too many people to count that had read the book, but they were all great in the Q&A, and they didn't spoil anything for the readers who hadn't read The Outlaw Demon Wails yet.

Picture one: My source for all things Skyline Chili.  Picture two: They are hard to see, but they both have burning bunnies!  Picture three: One very enthused reader.  ;-)

This is sort of an unusual picture for me, but I thought it showed the store really well.  Books and Co is absolutely fabulous!

Here I am with my staff photographer.  No, not really, but she takes pictures for a living, and she helped take quite a few of mine.  ;-)

And I loved this shirt!  See, now I couldn't get away with wearing it, but she could!

One of my roadies with her guy-in-a-very-cool-T-shirt.  And a motley crew if I ever saw one!
